COMMUNICATION DESIGN
Your world is embedded with information. It comes in so many forms: billboards, packaging, newspapers and magazines, on every television channel, in every corporate report, on the Internet and via digital applications. It is the intense and ever-changing visual world we all live in, and as a future creative director, art director or designer, you will create it every day.

ILLUSTRATION
MIAD’s Illustration program will prepare you to be a professional illustrator, by teaching you the language of visual communication with an emphasis on creative problem solving. You will experiment with various illustration media, including digital and three-dimensional media, to create a personal style that distinguishes your work technically and conceptually.

PRODUCT DESIGN
You see products that don’t exist; you also see how to improve those that do. You think in multiple dimensions, with a sense of purpose and function. Product Design is a convergence of two things: curiosity and criticism. Two hundred years ago, you would’ve been called an inventor. Today, you're a designer, with the vision to reinvent, and advance the tools and toys of everyday life.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN
Our Interior Architecture + Design program is built on the premise that spaces and their furnishings can affect people in deep, meaningful ways, and that those who create them are truly building whole environments that contribute to our collective psyche. Throughout the program, you'll develop your ability to solve spatial problems with solutions that embody both aesthetic and practical concerns.

NEW STUDIO PRACTICE: FINE-ART
What will you do with your ideas? How will the world be shaped by your concepts, conversations and critique? What do you need as a 21st century artist in the face of a changing world? See examples of the interdisciplinary exploration and integrated learning of fine art media - disciplines in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture - shown in the New Studio Practice major.

FIRST-YEAR EXPERIENCE
FYE: First-Year Experience nurtures your individuality. It challenges you to ask deeper questions about the nature of visual culture, art, design, technology, media, materials, influences and process. In FYE studio courses you’ll be immersed in making in two, three, and four dimensions. You’ll be engaged in conversations and critique, while connecting experiences with skills and knowledge. You’ll make meaning.

CAMPUS
It's different here. There's a gritty energy to the place. You can feel it in the hallways as people work, create, tear down, start over, fail, succeed, fail again, triumph and transition from being purely passionate to being passionate professionals. See for yourself why MIAD's campus is such a special part of the MIAD experience.
